Synthite has manufactured chemicals since 1920, starting from our original site in West Bromwich before relocating to Mold, North Wales in 1950. From our Mold site, we have built the scale, technical capability and product portfolio needed to support key industrial markets across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
We are the UK’s only independent producer of formaldehyde, with a manufacturing capacity of over 100,000 tonnes spread across three production plants at our Mold site. We are also a major supplier of bulk methanol, importing over 100,000 tonnes annually and supplying more than 40,000 tonnes to the wider UK market each year.
Alongside our core product range, we offer flexible toll manufacturing from our North Wales site, specialist chemical haulage via our in-house ADR-certified fleet, and a range of oilfield and speciality chemicals under the Syncide® brand.
